Mare Island Brewing Branding Photography

I have been working with the Bay Area Brewers Guild for some time recently. I am from Richmond, VA, which has a vibrant craft brewing scene and I have been keen on investigating the same on the west coast.

Through the Guild I worked with Mare Island Brewing out of Vallejo, located on the San Pablo Bay. They have two tasting rooms and I visited their newer Coal Shed location on Mare Island. The island was the home to the Mare Island Naval Shipyard - one of the busiest navy shipyards in the world. The base was closed in 1996 and the island is seeing a new push in development - with the brewery playing a large part in that effort.

I spent a couple of visits working with the team and was immediately impressed with the location and setting. The brewery is deeply committed to the history of the town and island, which is reflected in the decor, as well as the beers they produce.

We discussed the focus of the images they wanted. Collaboration is really the best part of what I do. The team at MIB were welcoming and allowed me free access of the taproom facilities. Best of all, I found a new brewery (to me) in the area. Great beers and a great view of the water., as well as an event space for parties. Also, a permanent food truck on location as well!
