Thanksgiving in Bend, OR
We spent thanksgiving week driving north to Bend, oregon. Holly and I knew we wanted to spend more time exploring California and the region, and this was one of the first steps towards that goal.
Bend was not what we expected. central Oregon is high desert and I was reminded of my drive west through Texas and Arizona; flat plains to the sky and impressive mountains on the horizon.
It was winter there, which was a nice change of pace. I spent perhaps too much time as an amateur landscape photographer, but we ate great food, tried the local beer scene and worked it off on long hikes.
First trip to Oregon was a huge success. I doubt it will be our last.
